Skin Cancer Screening

Book a Skin Check

Our dermatologists perform skin checks to thoroughly assess the skin for abnormal moles and potential skin cancers. These screenings provide a baseline analysis, allowing for continued monitoring and follow-up care to detect any changes that may indicate a developing skin condition.

Whether you’ve noticed a new mole or a changing spot, our experienced dermatologists are here to provide a complete skin check for your peace of mind.

What does a skin check involve?

A skin check involves a comprehensive examination of your entire body by a dermatologist to assess any moles, spots, or lesions for signs of skin cancer or other skin conditions. During the appointment, the dermatologist will closely inspect your skin from head to toe, including areas that are often overlooked, such as the scalp, nails, and between the toes. They may use a dermatoscope, a specialized magnifying device, to get a clearer view of suspicious spots and identify any irregularities. If any concerning lesions are found, a biopsy may be recommended to confirm a diagnosis.

When should you book a skin check?

Annual skin checks are recommended for adults, especially those with fair skin, a history of sun exposure, or a family history of skin cancer. If you notice changes in your skin, such as new moles, spots that change in size, shape, or color, or lesions that bleed or don’t heal, they should be assessed promptly. Regular screenings improve the chances of detecting skin cancer early, when it is most treatable. Book your skin check today.

How should you prepare for your skin check?

  • Remove makeup and nail polish to allow the dermatologist to thoroughly examine your skin and nails.

  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing as you may be asked to change into a gown for the examination.

  • Note any new or changing moles, spots, or areas of concern to discuss during the appointment.
