Dr Dimitri Luz

Dermatology Fellow, MD

Dr Dimitri Luz is an internationally trained clinical and surgical dermatologist, with experience in inflammatory skin diseases and skin cancer. He completed his residency with honors at one of the top medical schools in Brazil, worked in teaching hospitals responsible for tertiary care and the training of residents (registrars) and medical students, besides working as an investigator for dermatology clinical trials. Dr Luz trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a research fellow in translational dermatology. He also completed an internship in Australia, where he developed a deep appreciation for the country’s healthcare system and dermatology practice before returning to Brazil.

He holds a master’s degree in healthcare process qualification with a focus on psoriasis, an MBA focused on paediatric psoriasis and is currently pursuing a PhD in Internal Medicine, focusing on hidradenitis suppurativa. He is recognised as one of Brazil’s key opinion leaders (KOLs) in immunodermatology and is a member for dermatology societies such as SBD, SBCD, ISD and serves on the board of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), besides  an invited speaker in dermatology conferences, chapters of books and articles author and a reviewer for academic journals.

His interests include skin cancer, derm-rheum interface and immunodermatology, especially psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis, blistering diseases, skin collagen diseases (lupus, scleroderma) and so on. Dr Luz is currently undertaking a Dermatology Fellowship and progressing towards FACD recognition via the Specialist Pathway.
