Dr Lauren Passby

Dermatology Fellow 

Dr Lauren Passby is a UK-trained medical and surgical dermatologist. She completed her medical degree at the University of Oxford, where she also achieved a first-class intercalated degree in Molecular Medicine. She worked as an academic medical doctor in Sheffield, England, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Research and achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom.  

She ranked second nationally and completed her dermatology residency training at centres across the West Midlands, England. This provided diverse training in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and rare cancers, skin lymphoma, inflammatory dermatoses, and paediatric dermatology. Dr Passby was a training representative for the region, arranging a teaching programme for dermatology residents. She completed the Specialty Certificate Examination in Dermatology and has achieved her UK Certificate of Completion of Training. 

During dermatology residency, Dr Passby sat on a number of committees of the British Association of Dermatologists, including the skin genetics group and the national audit sub-committee. Dr Passby was selected to attend the Euroderm Excellence Training Program, and has regularly presented internationally at conferences across Europe and North America.  

Alongside providing tertiary level care for adult and paediatric dermatology patients, she has been involved in international multi-centre research projects across a range of topics including skin lymphoma and paediatric SJS/TEN. She is also involved in research relating to the use of artificial intelligence in dermatology and other specialties. Her clinical interests include skin cancer, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and autoimmune conditions including vitiligo, alopecia and lupus.  

Dr Passby is currently undertaking a Dermatology Fellowship and progressing towards FACD recognition via the Specialist Pathway.
