Dr Clare Tait
Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Clare Tait, MB.BS(Hons) FRCP FACD graduated as the highest achieving student from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, UK with multiple Honours and awards. She worked and trained in internal medicine in London before moving first to New Zealand, and then to Western Australia. She worked as a rural and remote area General Practitioner for 5 years before training in dermatology in Perth. She was awarded the Gold Medal, Travelling Fellowship, for the highest overall national score in the Fellowship examination and the President’s medal in Clinical Pharmacology.
She is a founding and current director at Dermatology Specialist Group in Perth. She has retained her commitment to rural medicine and is the visiting dermatologist to the Kimberley area of Western Australia as well as having worked in the dermatology department at Royal Perth Hospital for 20 years. She publishes regularly in peer review journals and has always been involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors, GPs and specialist dermatology trainees.
Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, eczema, acne, other inflammatory skin diseases and the cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease.
She is President of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, chairing the Board of Directors, having previously served on the College Board as Dean of Education. She also serves on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs Committee, Nominations & Governance Committee, Representatives Committee and COVID-19 Taskforce. She is a College Advocate, a Fellow of both the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
