Fraxel® Laser

Fraxel® Laser Treatment

Fraxel® laser treatments are designed to improve skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality by targeting signs of ageing, sun damage, and scarring for a smoother, more refined complexion.

Over time, the skin can develop uneven texture, fine lines, pigmentation, and scarring due to sun exposure, ageing, and environmental factors. These changes can affect how the skin looks and feels, often making it appear dull, rough, or uneven.

Fraxel® Dual is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment that works beneath the surface of the skin to stimulate collagen production and support skin renewal, while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding tissue.

How does Fraxel® laser work?

Fraxel® uses fractional laser technology to deliver thousands of precise microbeams of laser energy into the skin, creating controlled microscopic columns of thermal injury. This process triggers the skin’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin while replacing damaged skin cells with healthier tissue. Fraxel® treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, allowing the surrounding untreated tissue to support faster healing while still achieving effective skin rejuvenation.

What skin concerns can Fraxel® treat?

Fraxel® laser treatments are commonly used to address a range of skin concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Sun damage and pigmentation

  • Uneven skin tone and texture

  • Acne scarring

  • Dull or ageing skin

  • Actinic keratosis (sun-damaged skin changes)

Your practitioner will assess your skin and determine whether Fraxel® is the most appropriate treatment for your individual concerns.

What to expect during your treatment.

A handheld laser device is passed over the skin, delivering controlled pulses of laser energy to the targeted areas. Patients often describe the sensation as a warm, prickling or tingling feeling. Treatment time can vary depending on the area being treated, but most sessions are completed within 20 to 45 minutes.

Following treatment, the skin may appear red and feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn. Some swelling and a sandpaper-like texture can develop as the skin begins its renewal process. These effects usually settle over several days as the skin heals and regenerates. Over the following weeks, improvements in skin tone, texture, and clarity become more noticeable as collagen production continues.
